Adoption-Focused Therapy for Children and Families

Healing begins with safety, consistency, and the freedom to explore difficult stories

Founded by Elizabeth Orthmann, LMFT, our practice brings together experienced, dedicated clinicians specializing in adoption, trauma, life transitions, and early childhood through adolescent emotional needs.

For children navigating trauma or adoption-related experiences, Elizabeth believes healing begins with safety, consistency, and the freedom to explore difficult stories. Through this process, parents are supported in learning how to hold and bear these stories alongside their child—creating space for deeper connection, resilience, and lasting change.

Experience with Foster and Adoptive Families

Elizabeth’s clinical career spans suicide prevention work, adjunct university teaching in undergraduate psychology, private group practice, and a decade in non-profit settings serving foster and adoptive youth in both home and clinical environments.

Partnering with Adoptive Parents

Dyadic: A primary caregiver is consistently present in the therapy room with their child. Together, we work in real-time to build secure attachment, practice co-regulation, and help caregivers learn how to hold and bear their child's challenging experiences with compassion.
