Insurance & Out-of-Network Reimbursement

Storytellers Child and Family Therapy is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance directly.

Why We Choose Out-of-Network Care

By operating outside of insurance networks, our team can offer:

  • True Individualized Care: We design therapy around your family’s unique strengths, culture, and goals rather than insurance-mandated treatment lengths.
  • Complete Confidentiality: Insurance providers require a formal mental health diagnosis and full access to session notes. Working out-of-network keeps your family’s private records strictly between you and your therapist.
  • Flexible Modalities: We are free to utilize experiential, relational, and play-based modalities without restrictions on session structure or location.

Superbills & Reimbursement Options

Depending on your health insurance provider and plan, you may be eligible for full or partial out-of-network reimbursement. Upon request, we can provide you with a monthly Superbill (an itemized receipt of services) that you can submit directly to your insurance company.

We encourage all clients to call the member services number on the back of their insurance card prior to starting therapy to ask about their out-of-network behavioral health benefits.

Payment & Good Faith Estimate

Payments

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy.
